What types of leaders and teams do you typically support?
Larkfields supports senior leaders and the teams around them in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and technology organisations. Typical clients include executive leaders, functional heads, scientific leaders, communications directors, and strategy and operations teams. Support includes the preparation of board updates, SET reviews, business cases, investment narratives, Town Halls, congress keynotes and other high-stakes communications.
Can you support highly confidential or high-stakes projects?
Yes. Much of Larkfields’ work involves confidential strategic, scientific or organisational topics where clarity, discretion and alignment are critical. This includes support for significant decisions, executive reviews, governance forums, sensitive internal communications and leadership moments where the quality of the narrative can materially affect the outcome.
Do you work only with UK clients, or can you support global and US teams?
Larkfields is based in Oxford, UK, but supports international pharma and biotech teams, including US-based clients and globally distributed leadership teams. Larkfields has Master Services Agreements in place with US clients, professional indemnity insurance that explicitly covers US contracts and jurisdiction, and practical USD payment capability, including invoicing in USD and receiving USD payments via a US business bank account with ACH routing. Larkfields can supply a US IRS W-8BEN-E form.
Do you work directly with senior leaders or through communications and operations teams?
Both. Some engagements involve direct partnership with a senior leader, while others are coordinated through communications, strategy, operations or leadership support teams. Andy is comfortable working within established approval processes, stakeholder groups and corporate ways of working, while providing senior-level support without hand-overs to junior staff.
Do you work only in pharma and biotech?
Most of Andy’s experience is in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and health-technology organisations, where complex science, business priorities and stakeholder expectations often need to be brought together clearly. The underlying principles of strategic storytelling and executive communication are transferable, but life sciences is where Larkfields has the deepest expertise.
How quickly can you get up to speed on a complex topic?
Andy’s scientific background and senior communications experience mean he can typically get up to speed quickly on complex topics across R&D, clinical development, medical affairs, commercial strategy and technology. Clients often bring Larkfields in when there is limited time, high pressure and a need to turn complex source material into a clear, decision-oriented narrative.
How does Larkfields protect client information?
Larkfields operates fully within a corporate-grade Microsoft 365 Business Premium environment with enterprise data protection controls in place. This includes identity management with Conditional Access, FIDO2 protection, Intune-managed corporate devices with central enrolment and configuration management, endpoint protection, and encrypted data storage on all devices. We operate paperless. Business continuity is ensured through zero-knowledge backups held in Switzerland, by Acronis.
How do you use AI in your work?
Larkfields uses enterprise-grade AI as a professional productivity tool, not as a substitute for senior judgement, scientific understanding or bespoke writing. Current tools include enterprise-grade services such as Microsoft Copilot for Business and Perplexity Enterprise Pro, used within appropriate confidentiality, security and data-protection boundaries. Client information is never exposed to any consumer-grade AI tools or stored outside of the Larkfields MS365 environment.
Do you work with freelancers or associates?
Most work is led and delivered directly by Andy. For larger projects, Larkfields may involve trusted specialist contributors, such as graphic designers or other expert freelancers, strictly on a need-to-know basis. Any contributor support is governed by Larkfields confidentiality agreements and contracts, with secure data sharing and appropriate access controls.
